Meeting with CENTRO professor

Hi Guys,
Gustavo Prado, who is leading the Cross-Pollination workshop in Centro in Mexico will be in New York and would like to meet you all.
Would you be available to meet him on Friday morning? He's on a hectic schedule and that is the time when he'd be able to come to FIT.
He will bring some of the projects from the students in Mexico. They sound really interesting, a few interactive pieces!
They'll have more information ready by tomorrow, September 30, which was the deadline to have materials for the web page that the museum will be putting together for this workshop.
Have you had a chance to visit the Flickr entries?

Visiting flickr

Hi Guys,
I hope you are all doing well.
Next week will be the last week that the students in Mexico will be working on the workshop. Have any of you had the chance to visit their flickr and check out the pictures? The curator of the exhibition, Melissa Marra, made a few comments there.

I walked at the Breast Cancer Walk a couple of weekends ago, where a sea of pink filled up a large portion of central park. Breast cancer shirts and bracelets are not only worn at events like this, but have become everyday fashion. It's "cool" to support a cause through clothing, jewelry, pins and bags. But the question remains, does all that money that is supposedly "supporting the cause" actually helping raise money for breast cancer research? You can walk into any type of a store whether it's apparel, food, body care, or anywhere else, and i will guarantee you that there will be some sort of merchandise that has the name or the color of a cause on it. Yes it does "raise awareness" but wouldn't it be better to see results from the government's side rather than just all these fashion statements being made?
