I walked at the Breast Cancer Walk a couple of weekends ago, where a sea of pink filled up a large portion of central park. Breast cancer shirts and bracelets are not only worn at events like this, but have become everyday fashion. It's "cool" to support a cause through clothing, jewelry, pins and bags. But the question remains, does all that money that is supposedly "supporting the cause" actually helping raise money for breast cancer research? You can walk into any type of a store whether it's apparel, food, body care, or anywhere else, and i will guarantee you that there will be some sort of merchandise that has the name or the color of a cause on it. Yes it does "raise awareness" but wouldn't it be better to see results from the government's side rather than just all these fashion statements being made?
